My Sympathy and Prayers to the Gaspard & DeRouen Families. Evelyn and I were like sisters in our years at Cohen in DE and graduating together lots of laughter in class. I was not aware she was in Stafford after Katrina as we could have visited on my way to Houston to visit my daughter. When we talked I just assumed with her phone # she was still in NOLA. How I wish we had talked more and could have visited. She is gone in body but her memory will always be in your and my heart. Linda Jefferson Henderson.

To the family of "Ms. Evelyn", l extend my sincere condolences. I never got the chance to personally meet your mom, but l loved her through knowing you all, Keri Lynn Green, and later Yolanda. I am sad that she is no longer with us, but joyous that her suffering and fighting is over. I didn't want her to suffer, and have you children and grandchildren seeing that. God took her away quietly. This is your mom, so go ahead and cry. Allow yourself to grieve. Please know that each and every one of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Hug your dad, and your brother for me, and hold those grandchildren close. Many tears will fall as memories flood your minds. Just look up and smile, remembering the good times. I love you all, and will keep you in thoughts and prayers, now and in the weeks and months to come! May God grant you comfort and peace.

To the DeRouen and Gaspard family I am so sorry that Evelyn's gone from you in body. But her spirit and laughter will always be a part of you. I will cherish the Times we had as girl hood buddies. God blessed me with her presence as my best friend when my parents divorced. I loved her as a sister. Though we drifted apart, my love for my sister will never cease. Lay peacefully in God' hands my friend.

DeRouen/Gaspard Family, My prayers and sympathy to your families. I went to school with Evelyn at Cohen/DE/graduated together. She always called me her sister but we lost contact after Katrina and she wasn't at any reunions. I also knew Kenneth in our high school years. How I wish I knew she was in Stafford so that when I visited my daughter coming from San Antonio I would have tried to contact and see her. She may be gone in body but keep her close in your heart with cherished memories. With love, Linda.
