Dr. Huey was among the finest teachers on the faculty at SWBTS. His classroom material was well organized, well delivered, and he always fully covered the subject he was teaching. He was my Hebrew teacher, dissertation supervisor, and I thank the good Lord above that I was blessed to know him.

I am saddened for the family's loss, but I rejoice that Dr. Huey has concluded his earthly journey, a long and full life, and has now heard those words: "well done, good and faithful servant." He was that indeed and so much more. I had the privilege to serve as Dr. Huey's research assistant for one year. Dr. Huey was my Hebrew professor (MDiv) and later my PhD dissertation professor. He was a giant among men and one of the best Bible teachers I had at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was not only my mentor, but above all, he was my friend. At a low point in my PhD studies, I was ready to give up, but Dr. Huey never gave up on me and talked me into staying on.
