Fernando Catoni Obituary
91, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Pacia) Catoni; son of the late Dante and Edvidge (Gentile) Catoni; father of Dante P. Catoni; grandfather of Justin Catoni and Dante M. Catoni and his wife Zulmira; great-grandfather of Chrissa and Chloe; father-in-law of Mary Catoni; brother of the late Dante and Mario Catoni and Valia Silvestri.
Mr. Catoni was born in Rome, Italy, before moving to the Federal Hill section of Providence where he remained for most of his life. He was a foreman for Gamino Construction and Forte Brothers and retired after 46 years with Laborers' Union Local 271. Fernando will be greatly missed by his family and remembered for his sense of humor, stoicism, and generosity.
Visitation will be held Friday, 4-7 p.m. with his funeral on Saturday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, 1 Knight Street, Providence. Graveside burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Please omit flowers.

Dear Readers, Peace to you. May God's light shine on you and all the ones you love. I wish you irrevocable blessings. For many, death is their servant. It ends human pain. The part of us that is made out of pure and indestructible light returns to its original root. These people we love, that have left us were not our property. They were given to us as a temporary loan. Death is called "the middle. I loved every Catoni I met. Even the least of them are greatly filled with human love and human compassion. Gods Peace To You.
