So sad to hear of Father Flavian's passing. I used to visit my fiancé for a year and half before she moved to New York. Went to mass every Sunday at OLA when I was in town. I will always remember Fr Flavian sitting on the floor in our kitchen talking with me as I prepared dinner. He refused to sit on a chair at the table, he sat with his back to the door and said to remember him as coming in the back door of our home and enjoying our family life. I am reminded of my Uncle
Micheal - Father Cyril - who went to Rochestown, was assigned to St Francis High School and spent his final years in Solvang where he passed away on 17th January 2002. They must have been good friends and judging by Flavian's smile both were a couple of rogues.
