Belated as this is, I wanted to add one more tribute to Florence. I met her on a flight from Boston to Denver several years ago. She slept for the first hour, but upon awakening, didn't stop talking for the rest of the flight! I found her to be delightful, knowledgeable, and incredibly interesting. This led to a nice friendship thereafter and my wife and I were even guests in her home the following year. She loved to share her knowledge and wisdom, and had an opinion about everything, but also took a real interest in our lives, particularly our missionary labors in Asia. She was one of a kind and added much to the world during her 91 years. --Steve Lamb

Florence was brilliant, caring and giving. She saved a lost freshman at UCONN from oblivion. Thank God, I found her some 40 years later to tell her so. I owe her my life.

If you looked beyond the obvious you'd find that Florence truly had a heart of gold. She had a lot of compassion for the underdog. She was a true friend and when she said she had your back, she did- no questions asked. It was an honor to know her and having her in our lives was a real blessing. We miss her.

Florence was so deep, wounded, delightful, generous, engaging, engaged, brilliant, helpful, fun. The poems she leaves us with are a gift that will last. I am so grateful and fortunate to have known her only a little bit and send condolences to others whom she touched and made friends with.

I have known Florence for over 30 years. She was intelligent, quirky, generous and very happy to share her knowledge of the investments to others. Her passion was writing and I have read many of her writings which were quite good. Now she is with her sisters. God speed. Her friend, Sue Schilling
