FLORENCE SCHULMAN Obituary

SCHULMAN--Florence M.

Florrie, a sculptor, artist, gardener, and maker of personalized quilts, died January 12 in Manhattan, nearly 95 years after her Brooklyn birth. In between, she lived in Manhattan, New Jersey, Illinois, and Florida, with Harold, her husband of 61 years until his 2002 death at age 85. Barbara Gillers (Stephen) and Peter Schulman (Pat) continue the line, along with four grandchildren: Jon Schulman and Christine Westphal (Jason), and Heather and Gillian Gillers; and great-grandson Henry Westphal, born last May. Contributions in Florrie's memory may be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. Service: Sunday, January 18, 2015, 11am at "The Riverside," 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
