Not sure what to say?

Florence was a great inspiration to me in developing my therapuetic and advocacy skills to address aging issues when I attended the UNC-CH School of Social Work from 2004-2005. Even though my contact with her was limited during this time, she has and will always be forever in my heart. My deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends, and others whose lives she touched.

I have known Florence since I was 21 and just starting my career in Boston as a newspaper reporter. Now I am 57 and retired, and the hole in my heart over her untimely death is as big as the Grand Canyon. She was like a second mother to me, with her wisdom, support and encouragement. I think the best way to remember her is to do regular good deeds for those who need help, whether it's family, friends, neighbors or strangers. Florence spent her whole life helping others; those of us who loved...

Florence welcomed me and my husband with graciousness and kindness when we visited her beautiful home for her eldest daughter´s wedding many years ago. My Italian husband, two Italian sons and I send John, Jacqueline, and Rebecca our heartfelt condolences from Europe for the loss of this grand Southern lady.

Florence Soltys will always remain one of the most brilliant stars in the universe. Her tireless work on behalf of others has produced a ripple that will be felt among us forever.

Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife and mother. We enjoyed meeting Florence at Brett and Rebecca's wedding. She was easy to talk to and had a wonderful smile. She seemed very happy sharing in the joy of her daughter and son in law.

I want to express my deepest sympathy on the loss of Florence. I only met her 3 years ago when I starting working at Eastern AHEC. She came to Greenville to present on aging and depression and the audeience really loved her. She was a kind and caring person and I am glad I got to know her even if in a small way.

Our family, Ruth, Anne, Betsy, Julia, and ,of course Tiger and Greta, extend our respect, our sympathy and our wish for your comfort

I had the honor to work with Florence on a Committe where we were advocates for people in long term care . It was her support , knowledge and friendship that enabled me (us) to make some postive changes for the residents. It was also Florence who gave me advice on grief. " Oh Randy as you get older it gets harder. You can have a number of friends or relatives that will pass and you will need skills to cope." Practical and thoughtfull advice, just like Florence.

I and the world are...

Florence was a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart and soul. Some of my fondest memories of my childhood were spending time with Florence and John at their house on Greenwood Road. They were like second grandparents to me. I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful woman. She will be missed by my mother, grandmother and I very much.
