Florence Ziner

It's been a decade, really? I still feel like I could walk into the door of the house in Short Beach, and they would be there. Zeke coming up from the basement metal shop, Feenie coming down from her writing nook overlooking the glimpse of Granite Bay. We would have coffee, talk about all kinds of things, family and friends, including those who have kindly left messages here. I'll dream about them tonight. Lots of love to you all from Amie Ziner.

It's hard to believe it's been so long -- Zeke and Feenie were bright lights in our life. We miss them.

Dear Ziners, by chance I read about Zeenie's death. I am very sad. It has been a long time since we were in contact. But there were many years when Feenie and I were close friends. She will always stay in my heart as one of the most important persons in my life. She was a wonderful person, a true mensch.

Dear Ziners:

I had the grace and great joy of sharing a few minutes with Feenie and Zeke. We laughed, drank coffee and on several occasions ate herring on the edge of Short Beach. Every time we saw each other, Feenie and Zeke opened their hearts and extended helpful hands. They listened and laughed; and, most of all, they showed me the love they had for each other (and they always talked about the love they had for you, their children.)
