Floyd KERSCHNER Obituary

Floyd "Joe" Kerschner, age 80, passed away on April 30, 2023, in Spokane, WA. He was born on December 4, 1942, in Franklin, PA, to his parents, Strayer Kerschner and Maxine Perry. Joe served in the US Army for 10 years.

Joe is survived by his sisters Sally Franklin and Susan Smith, along with his nieces, Babbie Shutts, Marnie Erdelack, and Jennifer Cody Kemp; grandnephew, Mark Cody Jr.; and many grandnieces. Joe is also survived by his adopted family in Spokane, Marcel "Bear" Hassinger, Shawn Greene, and Karmen Greene. Also, his grandchildren: Kenny Bicknell, Karlee Hassinger, Kodeyak Greene, Zeke Greene, Zoey Greene, Zane Greene, and great-granddaughter Promyse Bicknell.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Strayer Kerschner; mother, Maxine Perry; stepfather, Virgil Perry; sister, Jacqueline Pattison; and brother, Keith Perry.

Joe had many jobs over the years, from carnival worker to oil rig cook, but his job before his health forced him into semi-retirement was as an over the road truck driver. In his semi-retirement, Joe enjoyed making friends, talking to people, and smiling while being a door greeter at the Airway Heights Walmart.

Joe was a kind and generous soul who will be missed by all who knew him. His family and friends will always remember him for his dedication to his country and his unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
