It was a sincere pleasure working with Floyd at Pass Christian High School in the l970's. He taught Industrial Arts and I taught Typewriting, and we both had to meet for those ever memorable faculty meetings. Floyd was such a gentleman and always had a smile on his face. May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, bring comfort and peace to all of Floyd's family. Please give Rebecca my love.

Sam,
I'm sorry to get this news. My own father died of lung cancer back in 1983. It was the reason I left my beloved California and moved back to this area nearer to my mother and my in-laws (which has led to my koan: How to love where I now live?... I'm slowly getting there...) Sandra and I are thinking of you and keeping your father and your family in our prayers...
With metta,
John

Mr. Rayborn was a significant man in my teenage years. He was my welding teacher as well as bus driver. I have so many good memories of him especially his whistling while driving the bus. Of all the influential people from Robert E. Lee High School he is the top of the list. My heart is really broken today.

Dear Sam and Cheryl,
Our deepest sympathies to you during this sad time. We regret we are unable to attend the memorial service. We leave on Tuesday morning for a trip to Kansas for Wendy's class reunion. We chose to send a plant rather than donate to the hospice. In our experience, it is comforting to have a plant that is associated with a family member's death. It allows us to care for the plant and to think of the person each time we see it. Kind of a livling memorial.
Blessings to you and all the family.
love,
Bruce and Wendy

Floyd was a good person. His energy and enthusiasm for life is much to be commended. I admired his ability to befriend all he met. He kept his good humor through his pains and illnesses and made many a fishing trip or trips to see his family and friends despite the pain.
His Faith was of most importance.
He enjoyed his life on the river.
He was so very proud of his family. He loved every one of you so much.
