I was deeply saddened to read the obituary in the Post for Mrs. Borders. I had the wonderful experience of being one of her pupils at Wyngate Elementary School in 3rd and 4th grades back in 1960-1962, and I still think of her as the best teacher I ever had. She fostered in me a passion for science that led me on to earn an engineering degree from the University of Maryland and a Masters degree in Engineering Administration from George Washington University.
