Francis Gray Obituary
New City - Francis (Frank) Michael Gray, of New City, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2019 at home. He was 83 years old.
Born on April 9, 1935 in Inwood, New York, he was the son of the late Michael F. Gray and Ann Scanlon.
Frank graduated from Xavier University in 1956 and married the love of his life, Eileen (Minahan) Gray on June 29, 1957, beginning a loving journey that lasted over 61 years.
Frank was retired, having taught Latin at Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx, NY and working at IBM in human resources for 30 years. After retiring from IBM he worked for the Town of Clarkstown Parks & Recreation Department, then, the Children's Village, and lastly working for the Rockland County Health Department.
Always in pursuit to further his education, Frank thoroughly enjoyed to read books and travel with his wife, Eileen, all across the world. He especially enjoyed visiting his relatives in Ireland. He loved to spend vacations each summer with his family in New Jersey's Lavalette and Ortley Beach. But perhaps no other hobby superseded Frank's love of his alma mater, Xavier University's, men's basketball team (The Musketeers); a love that he passed on to all of his children and grandchildren. Frank loved his family dearly and you'd be hard-pressed to find a major occasion in their lives in which he wasn't present.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eileen; his children: Michael and wife Mary, Kevin and wife Tracy, Jeanne and husband Rob, Stephen and wife Susan, Daniel and wife Adria, and Eileen Mary and husband Paul; twelve grandchildren: Susan Hunter, Michelle Gray, Kevin Gray and wife Katie, Christine Gray, Patricia Gray, Brian Gray and wife Rebeccah, Cindy Gray and husband Stephen Smith, Kristen Caputo, Jenna Gray, Ian Keeley, Erin Keeley, and Emma Gray; and two great-granddaughters: Primrose and Mattigan Gray; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 23rd, from 3-9PM at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 24th, at 10AM at St. Augustine's Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven, Valhalla, NY.

What a great Guy ! ... it is truly worth noting that if the world had more people like Mr. Gray then the world would be a much better place.
