Francis Oakley Jr. Obituary

Francis Carl Oakley Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the age of 77 with his son at his side. Carl was kind, gentle, and genuine. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Lillian Oakley. Carl is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years Pamela Oakley; his children Scott Oakley (Christina) and Rebecca Oakley Pino; his younger brother Robert "Bobby" Oakley; and grandchildren Alyssa Oakley, Jacob Oakley, Sonnie Pino, and Justin Pino. He was a veteran that took pride in serving his country in the U.S. Army in the Armor Division. Carl was an American patriot who was proud of his country. Carl was a "die hard" LSU fan, an avid reader, and he loved talk radio, in particular Rush Limbaugh and Paul Harvey. In addition, he was a fisherman in his youth, enjoying the bounty of Bayou Bienvenue. He spent his pastime either fishing or trolling the waters of Chalmette, the place he lovingly called home for most of his life. He will be dearly missed by those all that cherished his good-humored nature and joyful take on life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. A funeral service will begin at 11:00AM. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00AM.
