Not sure what to say?

Mr. Shafer was a wonderful man who coached our son on the SJHS tennis team. He gave many years of service to the team and was a great inspiration. He was able to participate in the sport he loved until a very late age. He was appreciated for his kind and giving spirit and his enthusiasm for life. He will be missed - certainly not forgotten. I was saddened to learn of your father's death. My goodness, I realized that I had known him my entire life. I will always picture your dad in his tennis whites on the courts of Leeper Park or those of Holliday Park in Ft. Lauderdale. What an excellent and competitive tennis player he was. When I picked up the game of tennis as an adult, I so appreciated your dad taking the time to hit with me and share his insight/tips. I will certainly miss his teasing and dry sense...

Coach, you will be missed here on earth. You made such a great contribution to SJHS tennis. It was always a pleasure to see you shopping at Martin's. Peace!

Coach Shafer was a great coach and friend, he will be missed dearly. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.

Fran was a wonderful man, he will surely be missed. He was always a joy to talk to whether it was about bowling, tennis or life in general. My sincere condolences to the family. Val Jr

Bev,
My prayers are with you and your family for your loss. May God reachout his hand and take your father to heaven to serve at the right habd of God.
