Dear Sun-Sentinel,
This is a little letter about my dad his name is Frank Accardi my name is Jerome Accardi my Email is Jerome [email protected] Thanks so much!

My Dad
It is just over a month now that dad has left us, and not a day has pass that I have not
shed a tear, tears of joy and some pain.
Today the 18th day of October 2007.
I visited dads grave. It was a beautiful day, the sun shining and a warm breeze.
I felt a...

My first memory of Frank Accardi was when I met him one day at Holy Name of Mary School in Valley Stream, as I went to school with Mike. From the very first day I knew that this was a kind gentle, easy spoken man with a heart of gold. After Mike, Ed Kilroy who was also in our class became best of friends we all felt very welcome in each other's homes. There was just that very simple, yet very honest feeling of love and concern for each other.
Eventually Mike, Ed, Ed Tuffy, Eric Hilton and...

To Aunt Rosa & Cousins:
It is unusual to say it was a wonderful Funeral but it was a "celebration" of Uncle Frank's 96 years and the family was gathered together again. Viewing the family pictures stirs our memories and those happy memories are what we have forever. Uncle Frank is now in the Mansion of Heaven with his Mom & Dad and sisters and brother always smiling down on us. The Military Burial with "taps" being played in the background and the United States Flag being folded and...

My father-in-law Frank, was a kind hearted gentleman who loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. One of my children's fondest memories was helping grandpa sweep out his beloved garage in Florida, because they knew that if they stuck around long enough he would find something that they could have like a scooter for Nick to ride on and a cowboy hat for Frankie to wear. Even though we lived in New York, grandpa always sent my children notes and his infamous newspaper clippings...

Dear Dad:
You are our Hero. Your example of love and sacrifice through out your life for Family and non Family members will always be with us. You will be in our hearts forever. We will see you again in eternity. Thank you Dad for everything. We love you.

Grandpa, you are a love, mentor, comedian, packrat and photographer. I loved walking in your garage of treasures in NY and here. You'd always save every article of veterinary and animal readings for me. You always had a gift for me or wanted to take a picture of me with your polariod. I'll miss the smell of your pipes and cigars. I loved watching you read the newspaper outside and always asking me, "How's what's his name?" with a smirk. But I will miss your smiles, strong handshakes...

Frank had a gift. He was able to make you feel a part of his family in just a matter of minutes. When you talked to Frank, he had a calm and soothing voice that made you feel like everything will be alright. Frank was never too busy to stop and listen to what you had to say, and he always had a story to share with you. I will forever remember the love he shared to all, and that special twinkle in his eye. Frank will be missed but never forgotten. I know he will have a special place in Heaven....

Frank Accardi - 2006

We feel blessed to have known Frank Accardi, a man with a gentle soul and an incredible zest for life. He always had a story to share and always made time to listen for his family and friends. Frank had a love for the violin. We were fortunate to have him at our home in recent years where my mother performed a few songs and allowed him the opportunity to hold and play the violin.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Rosa and all of Frank's extended family.

Although you weren't my "biological" Grandpa, you were always Grandpa to me. I am so saddened to hear about you. You truly have lived quite a life! Everyone should be as genuine, loving and caring as you always were! You and Grandma Rosa are an inspiration to all! My heart and prayers go to all of your family to get through these most difficult times! You may have moved on but will NEVER be forgotten! I am sure you have reunited with many loved ones who are so grateful to see you once...
