Frank Berson Obituary

BERSON, Dr. Frank R. The son of Rabbi and Mrs. Michael Berson, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 30th, 2012 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Berson was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on September 7, 1919. He was raised in Chelsea and was a product of the Chelsea school system. After graduating from Chelsea Senior High School in 1937, he was admitted to Indiana University to major in chemistry. He graduated in 1941 and was then admitted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry from which he received his degree in 1944. Dr. Berson then applied for and received acceptance as an intern with the Forcythe Institute of Children's Dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts. Following this internship he opened an office in Chelsea for the practice of general dentistry with the special emphasis on children. Following ten years of service in Chelsea he moved to Newton where he practiced his craft until his retirement in 1989. In his early years Dr. Berson was involved with the dental clinic of the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, was associated for 25 years with the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry as a staff member, and was a member of the Mass. Dental Society, Am. Dental Society, Florida Sheriff's Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Lifelong Learning Society, and Temple Emanuel of Newton. He was the devoted husband of 66 years to his wife Anne, and leaves a son Dr. Paul Berson of Philadelphia, PA, and a daughter Mrs. Jane Moss of Worcester, MA, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton St., Sharon, MA on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 at 1:45 PM. Memorial observance will be held following interment at Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Moss' residence and continuing Thursday 7-9pm. friend Frank.
Over the past 50 plus years we spent many fun filled hours with Frank and Ann enjoying their company and his wisdom,wit and sharp mind.
He will be missed greatly by us and all
