I was shocked and saddened to hear that Mr. Gadsden had reached the final stop on his earthly journey. He will forever in my mind be the young and vivacious man I recall during his stint as principal of South Mecklenburg high school. He was an inspirational leader who propelled students to excel!! He ruled with a steel-clad sense of motivation and incentive as opposed to an iron fist. He was a man of integrity- leading others by his heart-felt actions and not only his words. He guided his students to reach equitable and fair resolutions on their own. He was a true leader in every sense of the word!! He will be missed in this city as he played such a formative role for so many. May he rest in peace!!! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

He was a man of his word and of reason. As a principal, he LISTENED to the students and then made an evaluation. We felt heard even if the decision didn't go our way. Thank you for your caring and strong leadership.

What a blessing Mr.Gadsden was to know and call a mentor, principal and friend. His passion for excellence, honor and doing one's best were lessons that I will never forget from my days at South Meck. In the business world, I called on him at Federal & State Compliance and a one hour appointment was 10 minutes Business and 50 minutes walking down memory lane. He was one of the most honorable men I've ever met and I will miss him.

On September 21, 2017 you will be laid to rest, but you know what they say, God only takes the best. Everything happens for a reason. Even if we may not agree.Just promise me that you will look after all of us. And if you can, save a spot up there for me. The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes and my heart is broken over your death. All of this was such a surprise to all of us. But we should never question what God has planned. Sometimes it's not meant for us to understand. So as I sit here and mourn the loss of a beloved friend and Fraternity Brother, I have to keep telling myself that we will meet again.

Yours in the Bond Forever....

Frank was a vital part of the 0900 Cardiac Rehab class at "Presbyterian" for many years. He was always quick to share his smile and a kind word. He was very helpful to me when I was dealing with "the school system" concerning my son (who has special needs). He was a great listener and provided helpful guidance. Thank you for sharing him with us for all these years. He will be missed!
