Frank Soukup Obituary

Frank Soukup

August 7, 1937 - August 23, 2025

It is with profound sadness that Frank Soukup, 88, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on August 23, 2025. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Sylvan and Helen Vesley Soukup and his sister, Helen Sharpe.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Lynne Weaver Soukup; his daughters, Debra Franklin (Steve), Tammy Broder (Jeff) and Shari Hodges (John); grandchildren, Paul Franklin (Mallory), Morgan Prime (Erik), Scott Franklin, Allie Ward (Bobby) and Amber Butler; great grandchildren, Josie Belle and Jett Franklin, Malina and Evelyn Prime (arriving soon).

Frank served in the US Navy. He worked at NBC-12 as a producer/director and for most of his career as a producer of television commericals for major advertising agencies. He won many awards, including a Cleo.

He was a spritual man who loved all creatures great and small and had many talents. He was a pilot, an artist who created beautiful paintings, enjoyed music and could play the piano by ear. In his retirement he enjoyed reading the newpaper, researching topics on the computer and doing endless puzzles.

Frank loved his family with all of his heart, especially his wife. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by all.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be a private family service in his honor.

I worked with Frank on many commercial productions. He was such a joy to work with. Never got rattled. Always a pro, always knew the best restaurants and always got me laughing with his quick wit. He was a great person to be around. My prayers to his family. He will be missed.

Frank was one of the funniest people I ever knew and enhanced the work environment with his dry, razor-sharp wit.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Frank for several years at Earle Palmer Brown and always found him to be kind, extremely professional and a gentleman. It sounds as though he greatly enjoyed retirement! My thoughts are with you.
