Mr. Gist was truly a great teacher and role model. The Readers Digest stories were learning tools and structured foundation for a great many of us. Thanks well done. Class of 83.

Mr. Gist was my Government teacher at Trimble Tech. His daughter Cheryl and I were friends and graduated together in 1982. Mr. Gist was one of my favorite teachers while at Tech. As so many before me have already mentioned, I loved the stories that he read to us from Reader's Digest. Those stories inspired kindness, hope, and love in our young hearts. I still smile today thinking about the fact that Mr. Gist never called me by my correct name. Even though I know he knew my name, he...

I am so sorry to hear the loss of my great teacher at TTHS. I met his wife and daughter at his home and chatted. He was a great history teacher. He was so funny and humor in class. It was hard for me without an interpreter and I have to watch what he said and write on chalkboard. He decided to give me the note to save my time after class. That was really nice of him.
Class of (supposed to be 1977) 1978.

An amazingly humble man with a heart to reach kids...what an amazing legacy! If the only riches we take to Heaven with us are people we led to Christ..He will have...

A very fine Christian man who touched many teaching and molding his student's lives. I enjoyed his fellowship while on the faculty of Trimble Tech High School.
