Franklin Spencer June, 93

Pacific Grove, CA - Franklin Spencer June, 93, of Pacific Grove, CA passed away on June 9, 2017 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.

Frank was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to Merrill and Frances June on November 15, 1923. He graduated from Worcester Academy and went on to WPI (Worcester Polytechnic Institute) where he was awarded a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later completed studies at The School of Industrial Management at WPI. While attending WPI during WWII he participated in the Naval Reserve V-12 program. Upon graduation from WPI and completion of the V-12 program Frank was sent to Annapolis for officer training and was then assigned to duty on a destroyer escort. Upon return from the war Frank joined Norton Company in Worcester, MA where he was employed for 45 years, retiring in 1987.

Frank married Caroline Bush on October 15, 1949 in Worcester, MA. In 2014 he and his wife of 65 years moved to Pacific Grove, California to be near their daughter Jacalyn Horton of Carmel Valley, California.

Frank was active in the Worcester community serving on the board of trustees of Goddard Homestead, was a long-standing member of All Saints Church and was a member of Tech Old Timers and Tatnuck Country Club.

Frank is preceded in death by his two brothers Steve and Tom June.

Frank is survived by his wife Caroline; daughter Jacalyn Horton (husband Charles); son Merrill (Beth) Toby; grand¬children Merrill (Trey) June, Linsy June, Kelsey Horton; nieces Valentine and Alexandra (daughters of brother Tom).

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Saint Mary's by the Sea in Pacific Grove, CA.
