I will forever carry my memory of Fred as the image of who I can be if I take the necessary action. Fred frequently gave expression to the wisdom he lived by through witty and succinct aphorisms, and his lips ushered forth a sort of pragmatic spirituality that anyone could make their own. I once heard him say, "Prayer is simply turning to God instead of a drink or a drug." I doubt that the heartbeat of all spirituality could be distilled much beyond this practical insight for daily living. Because of Fred, I can mean it when I say that my prayers are with the Levine family in their time of mourning. God bless.

Fred was a dear friend and a true inspiration. We met while working for MADD and remained friends after we both moved on. Fred cared so deeply for his daughters and family.. I will miss him very much.
