Fred picked my friend and I up hitchhiking in Virginia late at night, we were going to the Great Smokies for backpacking the AT, we were 17 year olds, it was spring break 1972. Fred was towing an RV trailer and he stopped at a rest area and made my friend and I a dozen scrambled eggs, loaf of toasted bread and a gallon of milk. I was a couple years ahead of Fred in high school and was on the team that only won a couple of games the year prior to the Iron Man team and was lucky to have watched this great man grow up and become the great person he was. When he played for LSU on the defensive team he was recognized as a great leader and brought LSU to be recognized as a team that would always be remembered as one of the greatest teams ever. I...

My earliest recollection of Fred was sitting in the stands at Memorial Stadium and hearing my Dad scream " That was Fred Miller!" after a QB was sacked. Later in my career in manufacturing I ended up working with Fred at Ward Machinery. What I remember most was when big problems came up and everyone was screaming and yelling Fred was calm and steady.... Looking for the right answer. The world needs more people like Fred

My husband met Fred at the deli counter at Weis. He saw his Super Bowl ring and knew who he was. I met Fred at PT in Hampstead in 2018. He was such a gentleman and we all enjoyed hearing him talk. My family were Hugh Colt Fans. He was one of the Best. Thoughts and prayers to the family and may he Rest In Peace with the Lord. The Kramer´s
