Not sure what to say?

I attended the USC CLIS 1987-88 to earn my Master's and loved every minute of it. Dean Roper was graciously accepting of a born-and-raised NCSU Wolfpacker in his midst who constantly challenged his beloved Tarheel-ness. NCSU won the ACC basketball tournament in 1987. With the help of someone who shall remain nameless, I was able to gain access to the locked closet in his office and covered the front of a filing cabinet with the NCSU ACC basketball championship poster. I worked with Dean Roper for many years at the USC. He was always so warm and personable, and he inspired the best in his faculty and staff. I remember meeting Fred for the first time when our USC CLIS faculty traveled to Chapel Hill to participate in a core curriculum workshop. Subsequently, Fred came to us as Dean. I remember most his kindness and devotion to helping his faculty succeed.
