Fred was an icon. I met him as a young veterinarian just out of school when he was President of the TCVMA. A warm smile and a firm handshake, Fred was always talking about the Aggies. I will always smile when I think about him. RIP

I met Fred and Vola when Peg and I visited Acton Baptist for the first time over 20 years ago. He was the first to greet us then and turned out to be my closest friend ever since. He was a guy you could talk to for long periods and was clear on his opinion and also wanted to know mine.I loved his joke telling as the best and even enjoyed hearing it again and again just because of the way he told it.
