Not sure what to say?

May God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time. Sending condolences to his family and many friends. He will be deeply missed and most lovingly remembered. May you rest in eternal peace Fred, with God by your side.

I knew Fred slightly at work, but far better after we retired. We had lunch very frequently (weekly) after we retired and discussed politics, world events, science and anything else we could think of. He was liberal and I was conservative and we both tried (pleasantly) to convert each other. We both partially succeeded. He is, and will continue to be, missed.

Fred was an exceptional engineer, and more important a good friend. You left his office sometimes smiling: sometimes shaking your head!

As a freshly-minted engineer, I worked in Fred's group at GE in the mid-1980s. Even when I made an obvious mistake in an analysis, Fred was patient and kind in trying to correct me. I can only say thanks for everything and warmest condolences to Fred's family.

I'd always wondered why I've never seen pee floating in a rocket ship. Mystery solved. Thanks for everything Freddie.
