Not sure what to say?

Where do I begin ... I loved that man and am devastated for his family. I will never forget Ferdie. He was my lacrosse coach, my advisor and my best friend at The Taft School. Our son, Bailey, Class of 2002 had him as his advisor and close friend as well. He was smart, kind , funny ,caring and most of all, a gentleman. He cared about all of his students and was a wonderful father and husband to his darling wife. He and Lance Odden have made the school what it is today and it has been an...

I will truly miss Ferdie. He was such a kind and caring person. I am very sad, and wish the best for his family. He leaves a great legacy at Challengers Boys & Girls Club for all of the children he has helped, his kind words of wisdom, and for his loving support of staff.

Words cannot express how saddened I am. I will simply say that I am so grateful to have known Ferd as a colleague in admissions, a travel companion for ASSIST, and as a friend for nearly 50 years. I have always admired him for his common sense, dedication to helping others, and for his deep love for his family. Joanna, Allison and Chris, you have my sincere sympathy.

Ferdie was one of my closest childhood friends. He was a kind, sensitive, highly accomplished man of integrity. My wonderful memories are endless and I was privileged to be a small part of Ferdie's amazing journey.

Joanna--my heart is full of sorrow and sadness, but, at the same time, a love of a most special man who made a difference. Please hug your kids for me---they were so lucky to have him for the time God gave us. Love you, Brandon and Dottie

At the age of 15 or 16 Ferdie challenged me to think about what my values were. His moral awareness and energy made a deep impact on me. I will miss him.
