News Death Notice
WEIR, Jr., Frederick William "Fred" 85, of Kettering, Ohio passed away while surrounded by his family on July 5, 2016. Fred is survived by his wife Celia of 61 years, son David (Kay) Weir, daughter Susan Hampton, daughter Holly (Rick) Gardner and son Tom (Cindy) Weir, and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Steve and John, as well as his grandson, Adam. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all. A proud United States Air Force veteran, Fred served his community through many years of membership with the Centerville Rotary Club. Fred's family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Hospice of Dayton for their loving care and support. The family will receive friends, from 1 to 3 pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2016, followed by a memorial service, at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd. Kettering, OH 45429. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Hospice of Dayton located at 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, OH 45420. TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL in care of arrangements. Fred built an addition to our Centerville home when we were newcomers more than 30 years ago. We enjoyed conversations with them at Christ UMC and more recently at Krogers...he was a wonderful man.

Dear Grandma Weir and Family, I am very sorry to here about the loss of such an amazing man. I am very sorry that I am unable to make it to the visitation. I miss the summer nights of sitting on the porch swing at their house. Love you grandma!
