Robert H. Weir

Robert H. Weir, age 81, of Port Lavaca, TX, passed away the early morning of Jan. 18, 2026, at Hopsice of South Texas Dornburg Center of Compassion.

Born June 14, 1944, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur C. and Esther (Hilton) Weir.

He was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1963. Bob faithfully served in the United States Air Force, during Vietnam, where he was a Buck Sergeant. In 2006 he retired after 17 years of employment with Eljers Plumbing in Ford City, where he worked as a pottery caster and mold maker. Line dancing, sailing, and backstage theater were amongst some of his favorite hobbies. Bob was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include one son, Sean R. (Lila) Weir of Wareham, MA; one daughter, Wendy L. Murphy of New Castle, PA; half-brother, Pete Collins, of New Castle, PA; and four grandchildren, Tyler Murphy, Morgan Murphy, Amber Weir, and Alaxander Weir.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one sister, Amy Moore and two brothers, Audley Weir and Arthur Curtis Weir.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, in Pittsburgh, PA.
