Not sure what to say?

Sidney (Professor Buchanan, as we called him in our student days) was so much more than an amazing and talented constitutional law professor. His passion for life, learning and celebrating each day was recognized by all who were blessed to know him. He invited anyone who was interested to join him in his office for lunch and discussions about the law, life (both spiritual and earthly), Gilbert & Sullivan plays and anything else we wanted to share. Mr. Buchanan, an amazing person who make everyone feel special; you will be greatly missed; My children and I are so lucky to have met You.

Professor Buchanan was the kind of person I had always hoped I would grow up to be.

Sidney brought joy and brilliant knowledge to all aspects of his life. The love he and Nell shared is a lasting inspiration. Giving thanks for the rich life of Sidney and how he made such a difference. Sending love and prayers to Nell as she misses him. Sharon Cantrell

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Love Shawnetta

Many fond memories of our shared Thanksgivings, seeing Sid perform in a G&S production at Miller Outdoor Theatre and of course witnessing the friendship and camaraderie of Sid, John Mixon and (my Dad) Tom Newhouse. May Sid´s spirit live on through his family, his former students and all those whose lives he touched.

My first meeting with Sid was in a history precept at Princeton in our freshman year, and I was dumbfounded by his total knowledge of the detailed facts of our assigned reading. My admiration of his intellect will last as long as I do.

Professor Buchanan was one of my favorite memories from law school. He was always cheerful, interesting, and thought provoking.

He was a true gentleman who loved his students.
