Lopez Family our Fathers were cousins. My Dad was Elias M. Lopez, eldest of Ambrosio and Rosa Lopez. He loved your Dad very much. I am so sorry for your loss. It seemed like whenever I saw your Dad, it was at a Lopez Funeral. The last time my sister Kathy and I spoke to him was at Emily Lopez's Rosary. He reminded me so much of my Dad. Told us stories about days gone by. He was a joy and a very loving man. My prayers for comfort and strength go out to all of you. I can just see the big Lopez Reunion going on in Heaven. We will meet with them all again someday. Love and Blessings to all. Sincerely, Madeline Lopez Garza

I remember having to write a paper for school and I wrote about my Grandpa Chato. He recounted stories to me about his days in the Navy and how he learned how to cook for himself including those famous breakfast papas that I would steal a taco with when I visited. I remember him telling me how when he saw my Grandma Chia for the first time, she was barefooted, and how he told himself "She's the one I'm going to marry". I was glad we got to go fishing though it was less than we'd like, they were happy times. I remember coming back and he showed me how to gut the fish and i was not prepared to hold fish guts lol. I'll never forget how when my Grandma Chia was passing I heard my Grandpa tell her "You know I Loved You." There were so many great Christmases and holidays with the both of them, and sometimes being in such a large family times were and can be rough and difficult, but I feel Grandpa passing on Grandma's bday was just another way reminding us of the legacy of this big family and reminding us to hold on to the happy times.
