Dear Bobbie, thank you for letting me know of the passing of Galway. What a remarkable person. Many years ago in San Jose, he was the first person to encourage my poetry. And he read with me at Books Inc. in 1990, he well-known reading with an unknown poet. Kind to the core and it shows, of course, in his memorable poetry. My last memory of Galway is a reading he gave in San Jose (1990's or early 2000's)...he recited from heart John Keats's "Ode To A Nightingale" in his resonate voice. The...

Galway Kinnell was very gifted; and fortunately, he was publicly recognized for his insightful words. May the memories of his presence and the joy he added to our lives prove to be a source of comfort to those he leaves behind. May the words at John 11:11-14 enlighten you to the endless possibilities of life with Galway during future times that have been promised. My condolences for your loss!
