Not sure what to say?

Gary was my roommate at Oakes College for one year at UC Santa Cruz. One of the kindest persons I have ever met. We both enjoyed music, and I will always remember my friendship with him. I am glad he was able to continue to live in Santa Cruz and make a career in the restaurant business. Gary had a personality that you will never forget. His laugh is also unforgettable, and he will truly be missed. My only regret is that I didn't stay in touch with him after college. RIP brother.

Still remembering

Good memories of a wonderful man

Miss you Gary!

Where do I start?

Gary was the most genuine person I have ever met in my entire life.
I am the owner of KoKo Sushi in Green Bay. Gary was my consultant. Infact, I was his first consult job.
I will never forget picking him up at the airport for the first time (never meeting him prior) A gigantic black man! I started cracking up and so did he "kkkkkkkkkk!" He got my sense of humor immediately and that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
I am sick that I...

Taking in the Planet!

Gary gave and received vast blessings during his lifetime. He truly was a "gift to the planet!" He deeply touched many lives through his diverse love and respect of food, music, people and nature. His ability to laugh loud, love life, enlighten and open our minds and especially his strong pride and love for Ben and Maddie - allowed him to leave us a spirited, grateful, and peaceful man. He will always be in our hearts to draw strength and positive energy from.

Allthough its been a long time Gary and I were really close during an era when it meant alot to have a friend you could really count on. I can still hear his laugh and it makes me smile.

Our deepest sympathy to Gary's children and all other family and friends. My husband, Gustavo and I will miss him dearly. We often talked of fun memories and times we had with Gary, fishing, having Sushi and BBQ and just hanging out. We was a sweet soul and he will be missed by many.

I first met Gary at Oakes College, UCSC, way back in 1977. From those early days I knew that Gary was a very special person. He will indeed be missed.
