Dear Mrs. Haddock, Eric, Julia, and family,
I'm so sorry about your loss. Although I never met Mr. Haddock, I have known Eric and Julia for many years and heard the immense love and respect that was always in Eric's voice when he spoke of his father.
Keeping you in my thoughts,
Blaise Selby

As a friend of Eric's, I'm glad that through much trial and adventure he was able to arrive in time for the funeral, but more than that I am happy to know how much he loved and cared for his father (and his father for him) in the days and years before.

I did not know Gary, but I know his son... which is a fine enough testament to his character as I need. Condolences for his loss.

I was stunned to hear of Gary's passing. He helped get me my job as editorial cartoonist at the Pike Press back in 1987, I remember him driving out to my mom's house to pick me up and take me to the newspaper's office to talk with Al Seiler. My condolences to his family.
