Flannery and Martin, I was very lucky to work with Gary at the Commission for the Blind for 12 years. He was a great "boss", co-worker, and certainly very smart and wise. I still quote one of my favorite words of advice he gave me before I headed off to a Federal meeting in Dallas: "Um-hum them, and to the maximum extent possible, do the minimum."
