Gary LeFave will certainly be missed by a lot of people who have been a part of his life more recently, but in his career, he touched many lives. My first real teaching job began at Matignon in 1978, and every day for years I carpooled with Gary and Judy Bernard to and from school. Nowadays, new teachers are often assigned mentors, but no paid mentor could have taught me as much as Gary and Judy. Mr. LeFave was my biology teacher at Matignon. His love of teaching and of his students was obvious to everyone. We all loved his dry sense of humor. After my attempt at dissecting a frog, he passed by and said "don't worry, he was already dead before you got ahold of him". I'm sorry for your loss. He was such a kind and wonderful man.
