He great man that loved his job and his students and loved to share his love of science to to those who loved it as much as he did. So sorry for your loss he will be missed. In his word " it's bad tuna" as he would say. Former student Dan hildebrand class of 2011

Gary LeFave will certainly be missed by a lot of people who have been a part of his life more recently, but in his career, he touched many lives. My first real teaching job began at Matignon in 1978, and every day for years I carpooled with Gary and Judy Bernard to and from school. Nowadays, new teachers are often assigned mentors, but no paid mentor could have taught me as much as Gary and Judy. Sharing a commute meant sharing many stories of our families, classes, students, colleagues, second jobs, and life in general. We laughed a lot. I even got used to the Willie Nelson music and Gary's "being on the lookout for roadkill" for his science classes , though I don't recall ever picking anything up. High praise from Gary was to be called "a good person", and he certainly was one who will be missed by many.

Mr. LeFave was my biology teacher at Matignon. His love of teaching and of his students was obvious to everyone. We all loved his dry sense of humor. After my attempt at dissecting a frog, he passed by and said "don't worry, he was already dead before you got ahold of him". I'm sorry for your loss. He was such a kind and wonderful man.

Mr.Lefave was a great teacher. I will never forget how he used to bring a smile on my face everyday I see him. He was a happy free going teacher and I just remember talking about how I wanted him senior year. It saddens me that they took such a good person away. Heaven has gained another angel. This is "very bad tuna" as what Mr.Lefave would have said. Northeast Metro Tech will always remember Mr.Lefave. Passing by his empty room is heartbreaking, however his energy still remains. He will be greatly missed by the students and faculty of Northeast Metro Tech.

Dear LeFave Family:

I am so very sorry. Mr. LeFave had taken over from Mr. Twombley, and was a very good principal. Keeping you all in my prayers.

June 17, 2014

Mr Lefave was great teacher. I was in his homeroom my freshman year at Matignon and then had him for science classes for three more years. I kept in touch after I graduated and often would visit him at Matignon. He had a great sense of humor and I learned a lot from him . My thoughts are with you and your family. LInda Galligani

Mr. Lefave welcomed me into northeast in 2005. He became my science teacher and mentor. 2006 I was inducted into the national honor society and he became my advisor. Mr. Lefave was always there to help me out.. He was truly an amazing person that will be missed.. You could alway count on him to bring you a smile each and everyday he loved his job and his students. He helped me with college and always encourage me to push myself. From the moment I walked through the doors at northeast as a freshmen till the day I tossed my hat in the air he was there to support me.. I am so sorry to all the family friends coworkers and students that have to deal with this loss. My prayers are with you all. Northeast will not be the same without you Mr.Lefave my teach, mentor, advisor and friend..

If it was not for him I would not have the passion for science that I have today. He has inspired me to teach others and I will do this by becoming a physician.

Mr. LeFave made biology fun and interesting. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have studied biology at BC and would not have had a career that has proven so rewarding in so many ways. I'll always remember his signature staccato delivery of "Uh Thomas your late ... 2 minutes" which meant I was staying overtime to atone for my tardiness. Rest in Peace Mr. LeFave, they must have a hell of a lab in heaven ... and now a great new teacher to man it!

Sadness has overcome me with the passing of Gary. I am reminded of our summers at the beach and how Gary would be covered with Noxema due to his sunburn. My memories of him will remain with me until we meet again. His pain and suffering has ended and he is with the Lord--Goodness and mercy has followed him and he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever

June 15, 2014

My sincerely condolences to Mr. Lefave's family. I knew Mr. Lefave as my Matignon physiology teacher. Now my son is currently at Northeast Metro Tech. Mr. Lafave was always (really, always) funny, engaging, instructive and just fun to be with in class or elsewhere. A truly great teacher.

Homeroom 105 Class Of 2017

June 15, 2014

The last time we seen Mr. Lefave was about 2 months ago before April vacation. We didn't know the last time we saw him, was actually going to be the last time we saw him. He was the jolliest most happiest man at Northeast Metro Tech. We were so grateful as a whole to have him as a biology teacher and we were devastated to here of him passing. We would walk into homeroom and he would just scream "DELICIOUS!". It's simple things like this that made us all excited to be going to "Beeologyyy!". Probably his best line ever and one of our absolute favorites "It's A Boat!" Mr. Lefave was honestly the kindest soul who wouldn't hurt a fly. LITERALLY. One time in class he caught a bug and let it go. He was part of the Northeast family and to see him go was the hardest thing. He was such a big part of Northeast and seeing him go was one of the hardest things to do. Condolences are being sent from us to the entire Lefave Family.
