Nancy M. (Litchfield) LeFave, 91, of Reading, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 25th, surrounded by her two loving and devoted daughters.
The daughter of the late Benjamin and Gerda (Haselton) Litchfield, Mrs. LeFave was born in Reading and was an area resident all of her life, graduating from RMHS in 1951. She was a lifelong parishioner at St. Agnes Church, and when she became unable to attend in person, she faithfully watched Mass online.
After graduating, she worked as a clerk typist for both Salad Tea and John Hancock. Along with her husband Russ, she was a member of the Colonial Chorus Playhouse and performed in many musicals in the 1970’s. Nancy enjoyed vacationing lakeside when her children were young, and she was also involved in the Girl Scouts.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Russell J. LeFave, her daughter Mary M. LeFave, and her son Stephen J. LeFave. She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Marini of Reading, and Theresa (Terri) Palmer and her husband David of Haverhill, MA; her sister, Deborah Holt of W. Greenwich, RI; four grandchildren; Danielle (Marini) Messina and her husband John of Hampstead, NH, Erica (Marini) McDonald and her husband Scott of Seabrook, NH, Benjamin Palmer of Haverhill, and Jessica Palmer of Hampton, NH; four great-grandchildren Ava and Amelia McDonald; Giovanni and Alexia Messina. Mrs. LeFave will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Nancy’s Eternal Life at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Forest Glen Cemetery in Reading.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share remembrances with the family on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator available.
