IMHO Gary was one of the greats. Immense contributions to computer science in its formative years, legendary Halloween parties, and wonderful companionship. His life was so filled with travel, interests, hobbies, animal companions, professional accomplishments, and teaching, it's hard to conceive how one person could have done it all!
