Not sure what to say?

Sept 1969 First week in uniform

Gary or Sgt.Moore As I knew him best had started on the department a year ahead of me and he was there when I left in 1990.Gary was one of those supervisors that seemed to fit the military description of "Sarge" Gary had the right personality to be a supervisor. Gary had the ability to command your respect without ever uttering "Do it cause I say to" "Sarge" always showed up at hot calls but remained in the observer position which gave those of us that had been doing the job day after day the...

To Stg. Gary(Sniffer)Moore. Rest in peace. You were the best supervisor a officer like myself could have. Our days at the VPD were great.

Well, it's taken this long to compose myself enough to share this. Gary was more than just a Sgt. He was so approachable and knowledgeable that it was easy to add him to my role model list, knowing all the while I could never even hope to duplicate his standing. I would be proud to be 1/4th his abilities. His quiet comments typically contained elements of humor, insight, instruction and guidance within a single utterance. He knew when to involved, and when to let us find our way and grow. And...

My prayers and thoughts are with Gary and his family As a fellow Ventura Police Officer in the 1980s , I can remember his sense of humor in some bad situations. Thank God for the humor, but also his supervision of a shift and the multiple events happening adding to the heart pumping. We will meet again in the big briefing room in the sky. Stay Safe on the Streets. Mike Ewens

So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. My love and prayers go out to your family. Gary and I are distant cousins. Neva was my Grandmother's Niece and when I stayed with her as a small child Neva and Dugan visited "Aunt Mollie" frequently. The end a beautiful family. Sincerely, Molly Emery Burgett

You were always fair and kind.

gary was part of our golf group at soule park--we have missed him--always fun to play with--always a joy to be around. we miss him.

we remember Gary being a great neighbor on Dayloma always friendly and always said hi when we saw him.

I second what bob and Darlene say, Gary and Norma are the neighbors that can't be described, so wonderful and fun throughout the decades on Dayloma. Gary and Norma were so kind to me and I remember so many great conversations and hearing about all the trips and adventures. Gary was amazing and admirable, I'm so sorry.
