Gary Allan Springmeyer

My condolences to Gary's family. Gary's was not related to us, but was considered a cousin through my parents and his. I remember his guitar shop in Oakville.

Sympathies and Condolences to the Springmeyer family, with whom my family, The Richard and Dorothy Donston´s, spent much of their early years together. I remember Gary as the musician and the oldest of us "kids".

I'm shocked and saddened by this news. I last saw Gary in 2021 and he was his usual robust, engaging, high-spirited self at that time. We played music together in high school. He was two years older, wiser, and more accomplished. I learned a lot form him. I admired his playing and high-tenor voice. I still repeat a line I learned from him, that Neil Young could say more with one note than most players could say with a thousand, forever teaching me that it's not so much what you play but how...
