Not sure what to say?

I met Gaylon Stacy through his son, Michael who was a long time friend and business associate. Gaylon was a gentleman with exquisite manners who was highly intelligent, soft spoken and gracious. By the time we met he was working as the executive director of a professional organization and nearing retirement but still appearing periodically on television for the OETA telethons. Among my most prized possessions is a collection of VHS tapes made from film and kinescopes of the Gaylon Stacy...

he was such a great part of Oklahoma history

Gaylon Stacy was a 'professional' in every way. I first met him at OU, then He, Dean Ward and I worked up a group to do some singing, and Gaylon and I worked in the radio studios of KUVY and WNAD, and I have always appreciated his keen wit, good humor and kind faithfulness to friends. After our graduations, we went separate ways and rarely crossed paths again, but I kept tabs on his successful rise in broadcasting and public service. He was unique, sincere, talented and absolutely committed...

I met Gaylon Stacy when I going on 10 years old when he sang in the OK-4 and they sang at Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Commodore Chorus Valentine Barbershop show in 1974. It was my first time I heard barbershop and I fell in love with barbershop that night and fell in love with the OK-4. At the afterglow Ok-4 didn't seem bothered by this 9 and half bothering them when she was sick. They gave me my first barbershop record. I played that record so much I wore it out. I will forever remember...

Sad day! Re-arranging my desk, I came across a printed email from Gaylon, dated Feb. 9, 2008, in which we had reminisced about our employment, and complications thereof, at KWTV in the early 60's. I was a cameraman on his morning show, and we shared a lot of laughs and memories. I was going to email him tonight; but in sadness, I've discovered he has passed away. He was a 'good guy' and even after 45 years away from TV, Gaylon and I exchanged emails, lots of recollections.
You were...

So missing you. You were always so warm and welcoming.

I was once on a committee for the United Way and Gaylon was the motivator and leader of this committee. I left OKC long ago for LA but I always remember Gaylon Stacey's presence on the airwaves of OKC tv.

Jane and Family:

I followed Gaylon and Ken Witten on television commercials when I was in my teens. Marrying Ken Witten in 1992, I enjoyed the music and antics of both men for many years. Gaylon continued to call and comfort me after Ken died in 2009. I will miss him greatly.

I remember meeting Gaylon when I did the financial audit for Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association. Later, I was honored to be the family's CPA. Gaylon and Jane and Michael were and are wonderful people, and I consider them friends as well as clients. God bless you, Jane and Michael, as well as the rest of your family.
