I met Gaylon Stacy through his son, Michael who was a long time friend and business associate. Gaylon was a gentleman with exquisite manners who was highly intelligent, soft spoken and gracious. By the time we met he was working as the executive director of a professional organization and nearing retirement but still appearing periodically on television for the OETA telethons. Among my most prized possessions is a collection of VHS tapes made from film and kinescopes of the Gaylon Stacy Show in which he interviews television and movie actors, politicians and other celebrities and important figures. I think of him often and miss him.

Gaylon Stacy was a 'professional' in every way. I first met him at OU, then He, Dean Ward and I worked up a group to do some singing, and Gaylon and I worked in the radio studios of KUVY and WNAD, and I have always appreciated his keen wit, good humor and kind faithfulness to friends. After our graduations, we went separate ways and rarely crossed paths again, but I kept tabs on his successful rise in broadcasting and public service. He was unique, sincere, talented and absolutely committed to his family and beliefs. It is redundant to note how much he will be missed, but he was unique and special in so many ways. May he rest in peace knowing the contributions he made to everyone he touched. Much love and many blessings of comfort to his family and many friends.

I met Gaylon Stacy when I going on 10 years old when he sang in the OK-4 and they sang at Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Commodore Chorus Valentine Barbershop show in 1974. It was my first time I heard barbershop and I fell in love with barbershop that night and fell in love with the OK-4. At the afterglow Ok-4 didn't seem bothered by this 9 and half bothering them when she was sick. They gave me my first barbershop record. I played that record so much I wore it out. I will forever remember him and the OK-4

Sad day! Re-arranging my desk, I came across a printed email from Gaylon, dated Feb. 9, 2008, in which we had reminisced about our employment, and complications thereof, at KWTV in the early 60's. I was a cameraman on his morning show, and we shared a lot of laughs and memories. I was going to email him tonight; but in sadness, I've discovered he has passed away. He was a 'good guy' and even after 45 years away from TV, Gaylon and I exchanged emails, lots of recollections.
You were a good man, Gaylon. It as pleasant working with you!

I was once on a committee for the United Way and Gaylon was the motivator and leader of this committee. I left OKC long ago for LA but I always remember Gaylon Stacey's presence on the airwaves of OKC tv.

Jane and Family:
I followed Gaylon and Ken Witten on television commercials when I was in my teens. Marrying Ken Witten in 1992, I enjoyed the music and antics of both men for many years. Gaylon continued to call and comfort me after Ken died in 2009. I will miss him greatly.

I remember meeting Gaylon when I did the financial audit for Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association. Later, I was honored to be the family's CPA. Gaylon and Jane and Michael were and are wonderful people, and I consider them friends as well as clients. God bless you, Jane and Michael, as well as the rest of your family.

I will always remember Gaylon as one of the nicest, most sincere people I have ever known in the advertising/PR industry. Over the years, since around 1960, my father and I enjoyed working with Gaylon in multiple ways, from proposing people to be on his show to simply asking him to be our spokesman or voice-over. Since my first experience of Gaylon singing in the First Methodist Church to his last presentation of the last Edmond Parade, I will always think of Gaylon as a friend. Additionally, my wife treasures her PEO relationship with his wife, Jane. Harold Wallace/John Wallace

I got to perform on Gaylon's show when I was a folk singer. Then later got to know him better while working on a Reader's Theatre play at Mayflower. So gracious, hadn't changed a bit neither one of us. What a sweet, sweet person - Gaylon. R.I.P.

My friend, Gaylon, and I met many years ago when we were in the second grade at Blanchard Elementary School. By the time we had reached the ripe old age of nine in the 4th grade, we fell into "puppy love". Our "puppy love" for one another lasted until we reached the 7th grade. Our genuine love for one another never died, and we remained dear friends until this very day. As it turned out, he married my very best friend, Jane Gilmore. I married Don Bowser, and the four of us were buddies to the very end. Don got to Heaven before you Gaylon, but I know he welcomed you with open arms. I pray for your safe journey, my dear friend. My love remains true.

On behalf of the Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association, we send our thoughts and prayers to Gaylon's family and friends. Even though it has been nearly 20 years since he was the Executive Vice President of OLA he is still fondly remembered within the lumber industry. We thank him for his many years of service to the OLA and its members.

When I worked with Gaylon's daughter, Shelly, when Gaylon would phone & I answered Shelly's phone, I would always try to talk without my thick Okie accent because he spoke in his fluent tv commercial voice. You'll be missed.

I never had the opportunity to work at the same TV station with Gaylon, but our paths crossed many times. I interviewed him as a journalist when he was a respected legislator. Gaylon and I teamed up for an infommercial production a couple of years later - he helped me get through it. Gaylon was full of savvy common sense when I became a lobbyist. And, his pleasant personality and sense of humor were legion. Gaylon was the M-C one year at Edmond's Libertyfest Parade and I was a judge. He kept all of us on the stand and the public in "stitches" for a solid hour. Only Gaylon could manage that.
Rest in Peace Gaylon. You're in a better place My Friend. God Bless You & your Family.

Gaylon, you were always there to help a friend. I'd come from Tulsa in the early 60's. Had done a TV show there called "Spotlight" --- You knew about that and had me on your show to help me get my start in OKC. God bless you, for everything you did for me and others. You were a true friend. One with a beautiful soul
