Gene Edwin Fogle
82 of Greensburg, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014, at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital. Gene was born on April 26, 1932 in rural Decatur County at the home of his parents Loarn and Ruby (Adams) Fogle.
He graduated from Waldron High School in 1950 and married Josephene J. Isley at the Waldron Methodist Church on May 3, 1952. Gene farmed for 50 years gathering many awards including Indiana Pork All American in 1971. Additionally, he served as President of the Indiana Pork Producers, was a member of the National Livestock and Meat Board, President of the Decatur County Pork Producers and was President of the Decatur County School Board where he helped attain support for building the current consolidated grade school buildings.
Gene is survived by his wife Josephene, his daughter Linda Fogle of Carmel, Indiana, his son Mark Fogle of Chicago, IL, his brother Rollin Fogle of Shelby County and two grandchildren Callie and Cooper Branson.
Visitation will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Wednesday, October 15 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg. Gene's Funeral Service will begin at 11AM on Thursday, October 16 also at the funeral home with Rev. Danny Wolford officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
