Gene was a great friend. He delivered bread to every store in this town. We would see each other and set up a time for a break he had the donuts and I had the milk. After he retired the stores in this town missed him big time .Gene was a great man.

This past Friday, I had a dream. It was as though I was my grandpa's service, but he was lying in bed, asleep. I could feel the tears fall, but then he looked up at me, his face brightened by a full grin and, with a wink, squeezed my hand.
All weekend long this wonderful image ran through my mind, and I still can't think about it with dry eyes.

I will always miss Uncle Gene. He was a big part of my life when growing up. I will always remember the apple pies he loved, the milkshake, all the pastries he brought us everyday and most of all sitting on his lap. Uncle Gene always had a smile and made me feel good. I love you all and know how hard his loss will be for all of you. I only wish there was something I could say or do to ease the pain but I know there isn't. Just know I am there for all of you and if you need anything just...

Lois and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My Mom (Betty Roper) and Grandmother (Sylvia Zenor McClain) both, thought the world of Gene. I remember how much your Dad liked to tease in a loving and playful way. Gene was a wonderful Man and my thoughts are with you at a difficult time for your Family

Dawn & I were inseparable childhood friends and as I spent countless hours with this wonderful family in their home I do know what a special man Dawn's Dad was and I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to you, Dawn, and Lois & Scott at this difficult time. Dearest Dawn, you were the apple of his eye, too!

Hi Dawn, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not have the privilege of knowing your Dad, but after reading your wonderful comments it is evident he was well loved and a treasured family member and friend. I know he must have been very special to have such a special daughter. May the Lord bless you during this sad time.
Love you Dawn.

My Dad was a gentle, loving man who smiled at the world...and the world smiled back. He made the sun shine even on the cloudiest of days. Daddy had a beautiful soul that found something good in everyone he met. He was patient in sharing his pearls of wisdom to those around him. My Dad was a caring, supportive man who always gave unselfishly of himself. He was a wise man who exemplified "The Golden Rule" each day. My Dad was generous in giving unselfishly of his time and energy to...
