i met gene about 5yrs ago .he was working w everette marshall,we quikly became friends.he always spoke up for me.kept me laughing always.a great guy,i looked up to him as a son to a father.i love you more than youll know.ive always tried to find you on the internet...i just did.so it hurts that i didnt get to speak to you.i wanted to thank you for helping me become a better man.and threw it all you never judged me.So to my dearest friend,mayGod bless you and the world never forget you......sincerely John R.Sherrill

Janice, I don't know what to say except I am SO sorry. I was searching for you on Facebook of all things and somehow found Gene's obituary. I can't imagine how you feel or what you are going through but I do know Gene was the love of your life and that you must be devastated. You are one of the strongest women I've ever met and I feel fortunate to have called you friend. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Jane

How sad. I met Gene back in 1965-66 when so many of us in Montgomery hung out Susie's, etc. I remember him as a nice young man. My condolences to his family.
