Not sure what to say?

My most lasting memory of Dr. Abouna is how dedicated he was to each and every patient and how devoted they were to him. Today on the anniversary of his death, I remember him and pray for him and his family.

George is forever in our minds and hearts. May God bless him and keep him in eternal peace. Yuhanna Aboona. September 27, 2021

It is with profound sadness that, belatedly, I have only just learned of Dr Abouna's death. I was neither a medical colleague nor a patient, but was privileged to have been a friend of Dr Abouna during the years that he was the liver transplant surgeon at the Western General Hospital here in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr Abouna was a perfect gentleman and a loving family man who was held in the very highest regard by all who knew him. RIP dear George.

I was working with Prof. George Abouna at the Arabian Gulf University. George was my Dean. I learnt a lot from his wisdom, knowledge and professional attitude. He was one of the finest persons I ever met in my life. I only recently came across the news that George has passed away. My sincere condolences.

We have both us worked for Professor Abouna way back in Kuwait in Faculty of Medicine. God bless his soul.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dr. George Abouna on this anniversary of his passing. Although I only knew him for the short time that I worked for him at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, he left a lasting impression on me as a most dedicated doctor who worked tirelessly on behalf of his patients. May he Rest In Peace.

I just saw that George had passed. His passion was unique he was obsessed with achieving the best outcomes for his patients and he took great risks.I personally very much enjoyed his company while I understand that actually working with him was not easy if one was not up to his standards. He had a great and successful life and was immensely proud of his family.Rest in peace George.

Dear Cathy,
It was many years ago at the University of Calgary Medical School that I was hired to be a research assistant for Dr. Abouna. Along with yourself, Eva Rychter and Dave Kinniburgh, a medical student at the time, we were his team at the medical school. I only recently came across his obituary notice, and I want to offer my sincerest condolences to you and your family and will keep you in my prayers. I will never forget George Abouna and his tireless...

I am writing this upon seeing this obituary in April 2017 and hoping it is passed along to George Abouna's family. Dr. Abouna gave my sister the gift of life by transplanting my kidney to her in 1974. She lived for 28 years after that, where she had only been given six months to live when her kidneys failed. Her kidney was named "George" and we had wonderful anniversaries. She passed away from cancer in 2003, however her daughter told me that the kidney did not have cancer. Dr. Abouna was...
