Not sure what to say?

I was also an Iroquois student of Mr. Amundsen - 71/72. I'm sorry I did not hear of his passing until many years after the fact. He was my favorite teacher. He made math fun. He was kind, helpful and easy to talk to. Yes, the world lost a good one. So sorry this is so late, but my condolences.

I was sad to read of Mr. Amundsen's passing. I was a student of his at Iroquois 70/71 and also have positive memories of his class. I still recall the exercise of being given a list of names, colored houses, animals, etc. and we had to determine who lived where and with what animal, per the hints given. Yes, he made learning fun.

I discovered more about him in the obituary, and see the world lost more than a great teacher. My condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Amundsen was my 7th grade math teacher and I never had another teacher like him. He made class so much fun. He will be remembered by all who knew him. My prayers are with his family.

I was also a student of Mr. Amundsen's and like Julie Ware-Lindley stated, he made math fun even if you didn't like it.

I hadn't seen him since we graduated from Iroquois in 1976, until a small group of us put together our 30 year grade school reunion last September. He was one of the many teachers that were in attendance and I know that those who had him as a teacher were glad that he was able to make it.

My prayers and thoughts are with your family.

Marilyn and family,
George loved his family, his friends and his students--his demeanor and sensitivity was ever present. As a football teammate of his at North Park University in '61,'62 and '63 he showed the qualities of a gentleman while being on of the fiercest competitors. As a "Heavy Lifter" in the Football Boosters, he continued to unselfishly give of his time, support and encouragement.
His optimism midst very challenging medical issues is a precious legacy.
May the Peace...
