GEORGE BRADY February 9, 1928 - January 11, 2019 Our beloved patriarch, George, died quickly and painlessly at home on January 11, 2019. To say that George squeezed out every drop of life is a grand understatement - from surviving the horrors of the Holocaust and losing his entire family, to...

Not sure what to say?

May 16, 2024 Hana's birthday. Mr. Brady, I wish to send you my note. I picked up the book Hana's Suitcase, totally by coincidence last evening, odd how life works, and read it today. I was touched and tearfully moved at your family's story, having recently lost own my Father, an amazing and honorable gentleman, a Korean War Veteran. My husband and I travelled to Japan years ago but were unaware of your life story. We will endeavour to make a second trip to Japan in the future and hope to...

George was the most inspirational person I ever knew. His humility, his humour, his warmth and the way in which he saw the world with tremendous generosity especially after what had happened in his life from the time he was 10 to 17 - the unspeakable losses he had suffered. It is interesting how many extremely religious tributes there are to him on this site, considering how profoundly and compassionately secular he was - how he represented the most transcendent human values without the...

I learned about George Brady when I read the book Hana´s Suitcase to my fifth grade students, Queen of All Saints School, St. Louis, MO. We also saw the play at Edison Theater, and were so happy to hear that George was able to attend. His sister Hana was able to fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher through this book. I will always be so grateful for having indirectly known George Brady, an amazing person.

I have only talked to Mr.Brady as a child but its a vivid memory of mine what a kind man may God bless him.

When I was in grade 5, I was introduced to the book 'Hana's Suitcase'. It allowed me to understand the significant tragedies behind the Holocaust and taught me how to become a better person. I remember that I wrote a letter to George Brady immediately after I learned how to write cursive handwriting during class. I was extremely grateful that he replied back to me. Even though I don't know about Hana and George personally, his experiences and advice were valuable and will remain in a special...

George Brady came to my school in 2017 to talk about his experience during WWII as well as what he did after. It was super interesting to hear about his life. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Brady Family,

I am a teacher in Northern Ontario and met George at a teacher conference in Toronto. He had a profound effect on me and helped to shape my teaching practice. I loved his message about writing and how your story is an important one no matter who you are.

He left an indelible mark on me and I'll be forever grateful for him.

Such tragedies in his life. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Dear Brady Family,

I am a student from St Peter Claver College in Australia, Queensland. I first learnt about Hana and George Brady when I was in grade 6. One of my friends and myself wrote to George asking about Hanas Suitcase and what she was like. Both my friend and I received letters back from George in which we were very grateful and very excited. We showed our teacher who showed the class.

Even though I didnt know Hana or George personally, I cannot help feeling...
