George Brunton Obituary

Brunton, George Ferguson III,
66, of Phoenix, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Friendship Village Hospice in Tempe. He was born July 10, 1945 in McKeesport, PA to George and Elizabeth (Connor) Brunton. After serving in the Navy, George earned a B.A. in Education with a Minor in Political Science at Arizona State University. He was an entrepreneur, having owned two 7-ELEVEN stores and a sandwich company. George also worked as a business consultant and a Realtor. He was well-known for answering when others asked how he was doing, to reply "I've got more blessings than I deserve, but if I ask God He'll give me more," and he meant it. George was a member of Palmcroft Baptist Church for 30 years, where he served as an usher, attended church services and Sunday School, volunteered in AWANA, and his favorite, helped in the nursery by rocking babies to comfort them. George was a devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Cheryl, a loving father to his children, Benjamin and Leah, and a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Cole, Connor, Kathryn and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna, and his brother, Bruce. George is survived by his older brother, John. A Celebration Service is planned for Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Palmcroft Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ, starting at 10:30 am. The family is requesting memorial donations to Hospice of the Valley.

He's my hero and was like a father to me. While I'm glad that he has gone to heaven, I miss him very much. I would give anything to talk to him one more time.
