George J. Carroll

George Carroll was kind, generous, patient, clever, and talented. He drove members of my family to and from airports for many years and became a friend. He also played an important part of the recording sessions for my Mass in C minor by driving many of the musicians to and from recording sessions in New York City. He became friends with the Fry Street String Quartet. When I gave him a copy of the finished work, he surprised me by taking pictures of our garden in Southport and making a film...
